FlightVu Defender System

Recording
Alarmed video signals are fed to the onboard recorder where they are digitized, compressed and stored on a removable hard drive. Local review of the stored video can be achieved via a standard laptop PC connected to the Ethernet output on the aircraft recorder unit.
System Configuration
The system is easily configured using a local PC, or via the RF transmission system from a remote station, while the security codes maintain the integrity of the system.
Memory
Removable hard drive, with the capacity to store more than 10 hours of data, with an update rate of up to 12 pictures a second.
Transmission
Video images are transmitted at a target rate of 4 pictures per second. The transmission uses low power frequency hopping spread spectrum technology in the frequency range 2.4G Hz 2.4835 G Hz. No licensing is required, as the transmission is in the internationally recognized Industrial, Scientific, Medical (ISM) band.
Retrieval of Recorded Data
Following the removal of electrical power the storage medium is capable of retaining the information recorded during the preceding operating time for a minimum of two years.
Replay
- Remote replay, controlled through the spread spectrum link.
- Normal replay, carried out by removal of the hard drive, and placement of the hard drive in a Replay Unit.
- Local replay, using a PC that connects via an Ethernet connection on the front panel of the unit.
